X-60A

X-60A is a small high-speed flight testbed for conducting research and development of future hypersonic systems .One of the most challenging technical problems in the aerospace industry remains the development of vehicles capable of sustained hypersonic flight above Mach 5.

X-60A is currently in development by Generation Orbit, under contract with the Air Force Research Lab to serve the hypersonic flight test and suborbital research communities with an affordable air-launched single-stage liquid booster.

Part of my work on the X-60A included designing and manufacturing of the Rocket Hold Down Structure. The Hold Down structure is used to hold the rocket in place during hot fire engine tests, and is responsible for safely channeling the thousands of pounds of thrust generated by the rocket into the ground.
